The Family Session

Calm, documentary-led family photography

Step into the Frame
For the mums who are always the ones taking the photos — this is your moment to be in them too.
The Family Session is a relaxed outdoor family experience designed to capture your real life: the laughter, the cuddles, the chaos, the warmth, and all the tiny in-between details you never want to forget.
Based in South Lanarkshire, family sessions take place in beautiful outdoor locations — forests, fields, parks, or your favourite local spot — giving your children the freedom to play, explore, and be themselves while I gently guide you when needed.
While most sessions take place outdoors, in-home family sessions are also available if home feels more like you.
Because one day, your children will look back… and they’ll see you in the story, not behind the camera.
Real moments.
Gentle guidance.
Photos that feel like home.
There’s no pressure to pose, no matching outfits required, no need to get your children to “behave” or smile on cue. My sessions are child-led, calm, and designed to let your family move naturally.
I’ll guide you softly with prompts rather than poses — the kind of direction that encourages connection rather than performance.
Think tickles, hand squeezes, exploring pockets of light, walking together, or gathering close under a favourite tree.
This is about documenting your family just as they are right now:
the wonky grins, the wind-tousled hair, the soft looks between you, and the joyful bits of chaos that make your story honest.
