Under the trees at Chatelherault
A bright summer's morning, a park steeped in family memories, and a mother-daughter bond that lights up every frame. Hazel and Olivia welcomed me into one of their favourite places - Chatelherault Country Park - to explore, reminisce, and capture their connections in the most beautiful light.
Some sessions feel like catching up with an old friend - and this was exactly that. Hazel and I first met around 14 years ago when she was my trainer in a previous job, so it was such a treat to spend the morning with her and her beautiful daughter, Olivia.
We met at Chatelherault Country Park in Hamilton - a place that's deeply special to Hazel's family. It's where she got married, and where Olivia had her naming ceremony. The girls led me through parts of the park I'd never explored before, from the sweeping lawns to tucked-away corners under canopy trees.
The sun was bright and bold that day, but we found pockets of shade under a stunning avenue of leaves. There, Hazel and Olivia's connection shone through - they way they laugh together, always finding the fun in every moment.
Their bond was effortless to photograph, and it's my favourite kind of magic - the kind that needs no direction, just a little space and time.
