Some sessions stay with you long after you've packed away your camera - and this was one of them. This beautiful family of five were the very first to step into my portfolio-building project, and from the moment we met, they welcomed me in with warmth, kindness, and the kind of energy that's a joy to photograph.
When I first spoke with Ruth, something she said really resonated with me - like many mums, she's often the one taking the photos, which means she's rarely in them. Those playful, everyday moments at the park happen, but without someone there to capture them, there's nothing tangible to look back on and savour.
We set out to change that.
Our morning started at the little park, where all three siblings laughed and played together. From there, we wandered to the pond, and then up under the trees for a quick snack break - blueberries and mini jammy dodgers being the favourites of the day! Afterwards, we headed to the big park, where A proudly showed off his skills on the monkey bars.
We finished with not one, but two trips around the miniature railway - a clear highlight for everyone and a perfect way to round off such a happy morning.
This family had such a wonderful , relaxed energy, and it made my job effortless. There was no shortage of smiles, laughter, and genuine moments to capture.
